The ICMA calendar goes onboard

The ICMA calendar is being distributed among seafarers by chaplains and ship visitors. The calendar was produced to mark 2010, International Year of the Seafarer. It bears the simple message from ICMA to the world’s seafarers, “Thank You”.

In the photo (left) a seafarer onboard the ship Cap Manuel in the port of Auckland, New Zealand, displays his ICMA calendar. With him is port chaplain David Millar of Sailors’ Society.

The calendar which David is distributing was printed by Auckland International Seafarers’ Centre. Enterprisingly, they found local sponsorship to have several hundred copies printed. They have also adapted the calendar to include the name of the seafarers’ centre and the logos of the three participating societies, ICMA members Apostleship of the Sea, Mission to Seafarers and Sailors’ Society.
